About Solar heating Panels
Solar heating panels
collect and convert energy from the sun into
usable forms of energy from heating water and
air, to creating electricity, to providing
energy. You may hear solar heating panels
referred to as solar collectors, or photovoltaic
(PV) panels.
A solar array is a group of solar panels that
because of their size are usually placed on top
of roofs. However, there are also lightweight
and portable solar panels available, which are
often used to recharge batteries. In order to be
the most effective, solar heating panels are
designed to face the sun directly.
Solar panels use a group of cells to convert
solar heat into electricity. The amount of
electricity, which is produced by the solar
panels, depends greatly on the number of cells
used by the panels. Solar cells are usually made
of crystalline silicon and have 11% to 16%
efficiency. However, since silicon is
non-conductive, phosphorous or arsenic has to is
also mixed with the silicon in order for it to
conduct electricity. The solar heating panel
collects energy from the sun, which creates an
electric field in the cell, which then produces
a voltage. Solar panels have found use in
residential, commercial, institutional, and also
in light industrial applications.
